WHO WAS PART OF IT?
Future of Retail was carried out in close cooperation with Stibo Systems, and was held at their HQ in Højbjerg, Aarhus. We engaged relevant partners as Dansk Supermarked, ebay, Wallmob, Bording Data, Miinto.dk and IBM Bluemix. Those partners were engaged to secure the right input within the field of future of retail.
WHAT WAS THE FOCUS?
The Hackathon had strong focus on retail, and why was that? Because the rules of retails are changing. Consumers start to consistently shop across channels – and the retailers have to be there. Consumers are starting to be more and more unpredictable but they require transparency as ever before. The purchase process is endless and so are the possibilities. Lastly technology is necessary, and the consumers are constantly front-runners – Hence with that in mind how do we transform that into tangible concepts and prototypes?
So 80 hackers and retail experts were gathered over a weekend (May 2015) in one venue in Aarhus. Great participants, mentors and jury members were engaged and around 13 retail concepts were conceptualized and developed during the weekend. The concepts ranged from intelligent shopping windows to on-the-spot delivery services based on big data intelligence.
