WHO WAS PART OF IT?
Future of Internet of Things was carried out in close cooperation with IBM. The Hackathon was held at IE Business School in Madrid. We engaged relevant partners as Vodafone, BQ, Dizmo and IBM Bluemix. Those partners were selected and engaged in order to secure the right input within the field of IoT, and being able to have a strong mentor team and jury.
WHAT WAS THE FOCUS?
The Hackathon had a sharp focus on IoT. Why? Because IoT will be the third wave in the development of the Internet, and has the potential to connect 28 billion “things” to the Internet by 2020. Thus the aim with the Hackathon was to gather hackers, hustlers and creatives in Madrid to build awesome disruptive IoT concepts, to challenge status quo.
So 80 hackers and IoT experts were gathered over the weekend (9-11 September 2015) in one venue in Madrid. Hence a combination of awesome participants, mentors and jury members were engaged at the Hackahton and around 15 concepts were conceptualized and developed during the weekend. It was everything from intelligent pans, garden watering systems, intelligent pillows and a lot of more awesome IoT concepts.
